Make an Appointment

Prior to visiting a library or archive call to make an appointment.  Be sure to provide the archivist or librarian with a list of materials or books you wish to access.  Also inquire if there are any restrictions or specific times to access the materials as well as fees.

What Information Should I look for?

Anything describing the activities, practices, or  rituals of Arethusa, outstanding sisters, and names of members.

Photocopying newspaper articles and documents.

Be sure to notate the name of newspaper or document, date issued, volume number, and page number information was located. If dealing with original articles or documents, inquire if it is permissible to photocopy or digitally photograph it.

If photocopy machines are not available, an alternative is to use an audio recorder, and transcription of the article or document can be done at a later date.

In order to utilize your time efficiently, small articles may be summarized.  However, be sure to notate any names listed in the  article.

Obtaining copies of Actual Photographs or Photographs in books.

The “ * ” next to a book or magazine listing, indicates possible Arethusa related photos.  When reproducing photos it is ideal that it be scanned copy.  If  this is not possible then a digital photograph of the photo. As a last resort, use a photocopy machine to obtain a copy. If permitted.

Be prepared!
